Home Programs
Autism Behavior Consultants provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) within the home and community. We develop individualized and age-appropriate treatment programs and are committed to providing your child with high quality intervention.

School Environment
We provide trained aides in the classroom to accompany your child in the school environment.  Our Clinical Directors will work with the schools and families (IEP team) to develop and implement behavior plans.

We also provide short-term training for para-professionals working in the classroom setting. This training is specific to the client and not provided as group training.

Parent Training
Parent involvement is an essential element for a successful program, therefore, parent training is included as part of each home-based program. Given each families dynamics are different, our parent training programs are modified to fit each individual family unit.

Parent training includes education on autism, behavior reduction strategies, how to manage challenging behaviors and training on the child’s home programs. Parents are expected to observe the in-home program on an on-going basis.  Through training and observations, parents will learn and develop skills to work with their child, manage behaviors and monitor their progress.

Workshop Model
This program is generally used for families outside of our direct service area who may not have local services available to them. Within this model, parents are responsible for finding, screening and hiring their own therapist/tutors and ABC will provide consultation and training of these therapists.

ABC will conduct an initial 2-3 day workshop at the families’ home.  The workshop will include: the basic principles of applied behavior analysis/verbal behavior, teaching techniques, data-taking procedures and other necessary skills to begin a home-based behavioral intervention program. In addition, the ABC consultant will assist the treatment team in developing an individualized program and behavior intervention plan.

Follow up visits are conducted monthly and/or quarterly and also available on an as needed basis.  Visits to the home include on-going training with the intervention team as well as development/ changes to program. Other services may include progress reports, assessments, phone conferences, e-mail correspondence, and video reviews.

Workshop Model
Pre-School:  A 4 hour per day center based program.  The focus of the program is development of pre-academic, social, and cognitive skills, as well as development of socially appropriate behavior to gain access to the general education environment and curriculum.  Individualized programming and curriculum are developed through the use of a battery of assessments, collaboration with the public schools through the IEP process, and parental surveys.

K-6:  Services focus on skill and behavior deficits, as well as behavior excesses, that prevent your child from learning in a group environment. Emphasis is placed on learning to learn skills, continued social development, adaptive living skills, and academic readiness.  Each program and goal is developed in collaboration with the child’s family, the director, and collaboration with the school district.

After school program:  The after school program emphasizes development of social interaction skills, accessing age/ developmentally appropriate community activities and responsibilities, increasing self care and functional living skills, and increasing play and social skill repertoires.

ABA intervention is provided by qualified, screened  therapists, supervised and trained by Autism Behavior Consultants.  Staffing is maintained at a 2:1 or 3:1 ration of child to staff dependent on needs at assessment.
