OUR
SERVICES
Autism Behavior Consultants (ABC) is an agency specializing
in the treatment of autism and related developmental disorders.
Our agency utilizes applications of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
such as discrete trial teaching and Skinner's analysis of verbal
behavior. ABA is a methodology used to optimize the learning environment
for children with autism spectrum disorders.
Our goal is to minimize a child's failures through errorless learning,
while maximizing their successes. Behavioral methods are used to
enhance learning and replace challenging behaviors with more appropriate
ones. The main purpose is to teach children how to learn. Research
has shown that the most appropriate education for children with
autism includes early intensive behavioral intervention. Autism
Behavior Consultants considers each child as a unique individual
with different needs and abilities. We design a tailored program
which addresses specific strengths and weaknesses in the areas of
language and communication, play and socialization, daily living,
and academic skills.
Our philosophy emphasizes a proactive approach and positive reinforcement.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for the child as well
as the family by maximizing the child's opportunity to reach his
or her full potential.
Autism Behavior Consultants has been providing services to children
of all ages in the Westchester to Northern Orange County areas since
2001.
